Currently, The Glasgow Gospel is a work in progress. In 1992 Jamie Stuart published his re-telling of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, written in the colourful language of the people of Scotland. In the same year, the television production arm of the Church of Scotland produced a VHS video of some of the familiar stories from the Book. Noted Scots actors such as Andy Cameron, Tony Roper, Molly Weir, Alastair McDonald, Mary Marquis and Eileen McCallum all contributed their talents and time to appear in this programme.
In 2008 technology has moved on, and it is time to re-create this wonderful programme with a new cast, new locations and modern high definition equipment. It is hoped that the new version will be released on both standard definition and high definition DVD in the not-too-distant future.
Once the programme is complete, you will be able to purchase a copy from this website, as well as in many locations throughout Scotland. In the meantime, here is a little taste of what the programme will be like and as production goes on, we will post stories and photos here on The Glasgow Gospel website.
